What it is for

“By region or provider” searches all the terrestrial multiplexes of a region or a provider in one go, chosen from a list. You do not enter any frequency.

For Romania the list contains the Radiocom MUX1 network, built from the official list of transmitters: first “Romania, the whole MUX1 Radiocom network”, with all 18 channels it broadcasts on, then one row per county, with the channels in that county. After that come the regions of other countries, from the receiver's terrestrial list, grouped by country, and then the general lists, with no country.

For the Romanian lists, only the channels in the list are searched. For lists from other countries that require it, the frequencies announced in the signal are also added.

Important: for now the image only tunes DVB-T. MUX1 is DVB-T2, so in Romania the search finds 0 channels until a future update of the image. The receiver warns you before it starts and asks whether you want to search anyway.

The channels found are added to the channel list; the existing ones are not deleted. The same kind of search is also available in the web interface, on the /scanare/terestru/regiune page.

How to get here

Path: Main menu > Channel scan > Terrestrial > By region or provider

Keys on the TV: MENU 1 3 3

In the web interface: the /scanare/terestru/regiune page (the “Channel scan” tab, the “Terrestrial” group, the “By region or provider” button).

What you see on the screen

At the top: the title “Terrestrial scan: By region”, the time and the date. In the Pro theme, the blue square with the logo is to the left of the title.

The list has two rows: “Region or provider”, with the choice on the right (before the first choice it shows “(choose with OK)”), and “Search now”.

Below the list is the preview: how many frequencies the chosen list has, for example “Alba (Romania): 4 frequencies.”. If the list has values the image does not recognise, it adds how many were set to Auto. With nothing chosen it shows “Choose the region from the list (OK).”.

Underneath, in yellow, is the status line, showing what the keys do or the last message (“Saved.”, “The search did not start.”, “That is a group title. Choose a row below it.”).

At the bottom, the colour keys: RED “Back”, GREEN “Search now”, YELLOW “Change”, BLUE “Save”.

OK on “Region or provider” opens the list in a full-screen window: the title “From your country (Romania):” with the row for the whole network (“Romania, the whole MUX1 Radiocom network (channels 21, 22, 24, 26 … 44)”) and the counties (for example “Alba (channels 21, 24, 26, 30)”), then the other countries, with the number of frequencies in each list.

Once the search starts, the “Service scan” screen opens: at the top “Terrestrial” and the channel being tried, the moving dots, the percentage, the progress bar, “Time left” and “Transponders: x of y”. At the end you see the summary with “Channels found”, “Transponders scanned”, how many had “no signal”, and “Duration”.

Rows and settings

RowValuesDefaultWhat it does
Region or providerRomania, the whole MUX1 Radiocom network (18 channels), a Romanian county, with the MUX1 channels in it, regions of other countries, grouped by country, general lists, with no countrynothing chosen (“(choose with OK)”)The list of frequencies to search. Your country, the one matching the menu language, comes first. The Romanian lists search each channel only once, at 8 MHz, as DVB-T2 (this is how MUX1 broadcasts). Before the first search and when you move to another area. Choosing your county is quicker than the whole network.
Search nowOK on this row starts the search, the same as the GREEN key. The choice is remembered before the search starts. After you have chosen the region.
Network searchonly the frequencies in the list (Romanian lists), plus the frequencies announced in the signal (lists that require it)depends on the chosen listThis is not a row on the screen: each list decides by itself whether the frequencies announced in the signal are also searched after its own frequencies.
Channels foundThey are written to the channel list only at the end of the search. Existing channels are not deleted; those found again are updated. You find them in the channel list under Satellites › Terrestrial.

Step by step

Searching the multiplexes of your county

  1. Connect the terrestrial aerial to the receiver's terrestrial input.
  2. Press MENU 1 3 3, then OK on “Region or provider”.
  3. Go down with DOWN to your county and press OK. The preview shows how many frequencies will be searched.
  4. Press GREEN and read the question about DVB-T2: choose Yes if you want to search anyway.
  5. At the end, read the summary and press EXIT.

Searching a region in another country

  1. Press MENU 1 3 3, then OK.
  2. Skip past the Romania block with LEFT and RIGHT (one page at a time) to the country you want, choose the region and press OK.
  3. Press GREEN. If the list has DVB-T2 multiplexes, the receiver first asks whether you want to search anyway; otherwise the preview has a note about DVB-T2.

Starting the search from your phone

  1. Open the receiver's web interface and go to /scanare/terestru/regiune.
  2. Choose the region from the list (the countries are groups in the list); the preview appears below it.
  3. Press “Search now”, then “Search anyway” or “Cancel” at the question. You can follow the search in the “The search on the TV” card.

Problems and solutions

The search for my county finds 0 channels.

MUX1 is DVB-T2, and for now the image only tunes DVB-T. The channels will appear after an update of the image that adds DVB-T2.

The preview says “Choose the region from the list (OK).”

No list is chosen. Press OK on “Region or provider” and choose one.

The status line shows “That is a group title. Choose a row below it.”

You pressed OK on the name of a country. Go down to a region below it and press OK.

You see “The list … has no frequency.”

The chosen list is empty in the receiver's terrestrial list. Choose another region or search the “Whole band” (MENU 1 3 2).

When you start, you see “The terestru tuner (…) is set to “not connected” in Tuner settings. Turn it on there, then come back here.”

Open Menu > Dish alignment and setup > Tuner settings (MENU 2 1), turn on the tuner for terrestrial, then come back here.

The summary says “No transponder had a signal.”

The aerial is not connected to the terrestrial input, it is pointed the wrong way, or the chosen list is not the one for your area. Choose your county or “Whole band”.

I stopped the search with EXIT and I have no new channels.

The channels are written to the list only at the end of the search. Start it again and let it finish.

On the Amiko Viper 4K V20, the terrestrial tuner is tuner B, a combined cable and terrestrial tuner (DVB-C/T/T2); the search runs on it.
