For receiver manufacturers and retailers
We adapt the HD Satelit Enigma2 image to other satellite, cable and terrestrial receivers too. We start from the original enigma2 code, test the image on the receiver with every version and keep it up to date with package updates. Both manufacturers and retailers who want to offer a test receiver can write to us.
- Public source code, GPLv2
- Updates as packages
- Tested on the receiver with every version
How the image gets to your receiver
- Step 1
The test receiver
You send us the receiver (or several models) to keep, with its remote and power supply. It stays with us, switched on, and we test every new version of the image on it.
From youthe receiver, to keep - Step 2
We adapt and test the image
We build the image for the receiver's board, with its drivers and documentation when we get them, and test it on the receiver itself: channels, tuners, recordings, the remote and the front display.
With ustesting on the receiver - Step 3
We release it: alpha, beta, stable
First for testers (alpha), then beta, then stable, on the receiver's page, with the steps to install it from a USB stick. Updates then arrive by themselves, as packages, straight to the receiver.

What helps us from you
The more of these we have, the sooner the image is ready and the better it runs on the receiver.
- The receiver, to keep
One for each model, with its remote and power supply. If the model has several board revisions, tell us which one you sent.
- The drivers and the board support package (BSP)
The Linux drivers for the board and the tuners, the matching Linux kernel and the picture and sound libraries, if you have them.
- The technical documentation
The remote control codes, how the internal memory is partitioned, how the receiver is restored from a USB stick and what front display it has.
- A technical contact
Someone who can answer questions about the board, the tuners or how the receiver boots.
For retailers
Do you sell receivers? A test receiver sent by you enters the plan just like one from a manufacturer. Your customers then get the image and its updates, like everyone else, and find help in their own language on the forum.
What you get
- The image for your receiver, with its name in the menus and on the site.
- Updates as packages, straight to the receiver, without reinstalling.
- The receiver's page on stb.hdsatelit.com, with the download and the installation steps.
- The model's topic on the image forum, where people write in their own language.
- The online help for every screen of the receiver.
- The adaptation is free of charge. The order depends on the receivers we get and on our time.
Free software, GPLv2
The image is built from free software. The source code of every version is public, under the GPLv2 licence, and the changes made for your receiver go there too. The board's closed drivers stay binary files, as in the other Enigma2 images.
The receivers we are working on now
Those with an image and those in the work plan. All 420 models are on the Receivers page.

Write to us
For a test receiver, drivers or any technical question.
What to include in your first message
- the receiver model and, if there are several, the board revision;
- the processor, the RAM, the internal memory and the tuners;
- how many receivers you can send and where they ship from;
- whether you have drivers, the board support package (BSP) and documentation;
- a technical contact address.
What we do
- We tell you which stage the model enters (Under study, In preparation, Alpha, Beta, Stable); the stage is also shown on the Receivers page.
- No image becomes stable without testing on the receiver.
- The receiver's page always shows the current stage and version of the image.
