HD Satelit image 0.6.0 alpha, for testers only, on the Amiko Viper 4K V40
24 October 2026

HD Satelit image 0.6.0 can now also be downloaded for the Amiko Viper 4K V40, as an alpha, for testers only. Alpha means the image is made for this receiver, but it has not been tried on the receiver itself yet: it may not start.
The V40 has the same processor and the same kernel as the Amiko Viper 4K V20, on which image 0.6.0 is tested as a beta. The manufacturer's drivers for the V40 have the same code as those for the V20, except two programs of the board: the one of the HDMI output and the one of the full shutdown. That is why, on the V40, the tests with the HDMI output and with the full shutdown matter most.
Only the kernel and the system are written; the receiver's start-up stays untouched, so the receiver can be restored from a USB stick with the manufacturer's image. The archive is only for the V40 and is installed from a USB stick, as on the V20. Make a copy of your settings and channel list first.
The package updates available now are for the V20 and the V30. On the V40, Software update says for now that there are no updates; the updates for the V40 come later.
Do you have a V40 and have you tried the image? Write to us at [email protected] what worked and what did not, with the logs and a photo of the note shown at the first start. The HD Satelit blog also has an article, in Romanian, about the image for testers on the V40.
